New place: But Cat-Grass Season has passed again

Tortoise Cat: Here we are in the next, bigger, wilder territory the Big One promised we'd inhabit so many longer whiles ago. EYOW! Truly, I am stunned, Chameleon. But Cat-Grass Season was already all but over when we arrived -- grass shoots may be bright green some wheres around here, but the flavors are napping, just like the pale yellow patches.

Chameleon: Well, let's romp through what Sun-FUN moments do dawn, then deep-cat-nap dream on through the longer dark whiles.

Tortoise Cat: Chameleon, we can romp inside, too, day or night. Look -- this shelter includes built-in mountain ledges and cliff edges!

Chameleon: Certainly, play mountain climbing and cliff diving, Tortoise Cat! Soon, maybe, the Big One will grow you some succulent cat-grass indoors.

Next memory: Oak sapling munches

In mid-November 2012, late Cat-Grass Season, this happened: Mmm...Yum!

Fleeting memory: Windy days best for rushing up trees

On a gusty, late October 2012 day this happened...

Tortoise Cat: Chameleon, I rushed up a tree in the breezes, then down head-first, then rolled both ways, then munched cat-grass -- fun! Now I'm heading toward the shrubbery to hide from stronger wind gusts.

Chameleon: OK, Tortoise Cat. Sun fun!

Tortoiseshell garden blending demonstrated

Tortoise Cat: Chameleon, what FUN we had blending into the sunny garden!

Chameleon: But I blended in so well, few eyes could pinpoint me, Tortoise Cat.

Tortoise Cat: But why did the Big One snap so many pictures of our play today?

Chameleon: Bright colors in warm sun rays boost human moods, Tortoise Cat.

Tortoise Cat discovers Cat-Grass with drizzle is tasty too

Tortoise Cat: Strolling in the drizzle I gnash ever-tasty cat-grass before this long, favorite season suddenly freezes over -- yummy tastes glaze the blades -- worth wetting my paws.

Chameleon: Oh, many bright days are still ahead before the real chill-shift to Nap-and-Dream Season overtakes our world, Tortoise Cat.

Tortoise Cat: OK. So...Why did the Big One travel and return recently Chameleon?

Chameleon: Territory checking...!

Tortoise Cat: OK. But did the Big One find a territory where Cat-Grass Season grows all-year?

Blurring improves the taste of Cat-Grasses, too!
Drizzle blurs our world while adding flavors!

Our neighborhood Coldspring Creek is a ditch

Tortoise Cat: I'm no swimmer, but that so-called creek down our block seems more like a ditch.

Chameleon: That almost-stagnant stream is part of this city's drainage system, I suppose.

Tortoise Cat: EYOW -- outside drains! So there are NO fish to catch in there, anyway?

Chameleon: Well, there might be a few, but probably far between, Tortoise Cat. Now I imagine you swim expertly, instinctively.

The Invisible Chameleon hides in shadows, but today shadows fade and blur!

Tortoise Cat: OK, whatever you imagine, Chameleon. But I'll seek more neighborhood say-sos before I dip a paw. EYOW, that'll take a long while!

Chameleon: OK, I splash and tell a little while later, Tortoise Cat.

Tortoise Cat: EYOW, that's swell. But don't shake off on me, after!

The Invisible Chameleon is splashing to check this Cold Spring Road ditch for fish!

Tortoise Cat has found the best Cat-Grass for now

Tortoise Cat: Here we are, still visiting the Uncle Big Ones! I could stay here happily forever, because the Cat-Grass here is lavishly luscious, Chameleon!

Chameleon: Did I not explain, we must wait a long while before we travel on? Just pretend it's forever, Tortoise Cat!

Tortoise Cat: OK, now is forever. Now will you help me show off the latest pictures the Big One snapped? Then let's play a little while longer.

Chameleon: Happily, Tortoise Cat.

Still traveling Tortoise Cat now-seeking new territory

Tortoise Cat: Chameleon, how soon will we fly away from here? I'd rather prowl along than ride! This place is purr-fectly OK, so why go?

Chameleon: The next place will feature bright window sills and giant yards. Yet maybe you'll miss the extra attention you're taking advantage of here from Big One Uncles Marshall and Rick when we'll roll along over there in a while, as soon as possible.

Tortoise Cat: When is as soon as possible, Chameleon? In how long a while will we roll along?

Chameleon: Well...whenever. As soon as possible could mean a short or a long while, Tortoise Cat. So I recommend luxuriating in the plush furnishings and features of our current location until then.

Tortoise Cat: So when is whenever. But when is then, Chameleon?

Chameleon: Well, when might become then whenever or anytime and anyplace...but it's all pretty iffy, Tortoise Cat. Then is much easier to spot a while after it happens. So for now let's just frolic with leafy shadows instead of worry, then plop down for a nap and dream up fun.

Tortoise Cat: OK, Chameleon. So, I muse...possibly...EYOW: When, whenever and then are pretty, iffy, shifty now-shadows folks could play-dream in and probably while-away worry with fun. How a-MEW-zing!

Chameleon: OK, whatever, Tortoise Cat.

Sunday, July 8, 2012

Tortoise Cat: This yard grass is tough and tasty, Chameleon. But the plants here are almost all dried out, browning or golden instead of green. The foolish big one in charge here forgets to turn the water sprinklers on, night after night. When will we fly homeward? I'm ready!

Chameleon: Our departure is up in the air at this moment, Tortoise Cat. It may be many whiles away, or much sooner.

Tortoise Cat: The Big One wants to fly away soon, I know, Chameleon.

Chameleon: But we may stay longer, anyway, Tortoise Cat.

Tortoise Cat: Is "quitting" always bad, Chameleon? Is "hanging in here" always better?

Chameleon: Let's play today, no matter what, Tortoise Cat.

Tortoise Cat: OK, Chameleon, let's blur furs -- and scales -- and rumpus up some fun with the squirrels scampering here now.

I'm ready to fly back to this yard!

The Tortoise Cat was dreaming of flying

Tortoise Cat: Chameleon, tell me how the Big One, you and I will fly higher than hawks for a while soon!

Chameleon: Well, I'll gyro-flap my magic wings as usual, Tortoise Cat. But you and the Big One will jet
along at great sky-speeds and adventure vast earthly distances above the clouds with strong, stiff, giant metal wings...!

Tortoise Cat: EYOW...Chameleon, tell me MORE...NOW.

Chameleon: I'll elaborate later. Now let's dream how.

Tortoise Cat: OK, I'll blur my furs a while, then dream we're flying among these firs soon, then dream gyro-winging and jetting above clouds and hawks later.

Chameleon: OK, Tortoise Cat.

Rumors on the wind trouble the Tortoise Cat

Tortoise cat: Chameleon, I smell messages in the breezes, telling of new travels to happen in a while. The Big One must be plotting a big move soon. But I hate rides!

Chameleon: Yes, we'll be adventuring forth. You will gain more territories in the deal, Tortoise Cat. And you will fly -- higher than hawks.

Tortoise Cat: EYOW...! How, Chameleon?

Chameleon: I will tell you later, Tortoise Cat, but you won't believe me.
